Tickets for David Tennant's performance of Hamlet in London have sold out in under three hours, the Royal Shakespeare Company has confirmed.
Around 270 people queued up outside the Novello Theatre to buy tickets and several people camped overnight.
Some 6,000 tickets were bought for the show, which starts in December, but on-the-day tickets will be made available.
"We're very pleased that the play in is accruing so much interest," an RSC spokeswoman said.
The Doctor Who star has been appearing with the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon as the young prince haunted by his father's ghost and driven to the edge of madness.
